‘Show the World What’s Possible’: Alison Hartson releases inspiring campaign video

May 4, 2018

CALIFORNIA — With just 33 days until the June 5 primary, U.S. Senate Candidate Alison Hartson released an inspiring video dubbing her campaign the “David and Goliath story of our time.”

Hartson continues to gain grassroots momentum in her challenge to 5-term Senator Dianne Feinstein. The 37-year-old former public high school teacher has amassed an army of more than 1,700 volunteers, and after announcing her run in November, Hartson has funded her entire campaign by individual campaign contributions, refusing PAC money.

“We need people to lead this country who believe in our capacity and potential,” Harston says in the video filled with footage of her testifying before legislators during her work as the National Director of a nonprofit whose sole mission is to end political corruption. We need “leaders who put people over profit and the greater good over personal greed. This is absolutely possible when we have representatives who refuse corporate and dark money,” she says.

Hartson has continued to focus her campaign around the central issue of ending corruption and removing the influence of money in our political system, and her message is resonating with people of all walks of life and of all political ideologies.

“When we do causal analysis and we look at the root cause of all of the major problems we face as a citizenry, whether it’s healthcare, income inequality, criminal justice reform or the move towards a green economy, it all comes down to greed. It’s time we elect representatives who will fight for us, not corporations,” Hartson said.

Hartson has dubbed her massive volunteer network “Hartson Heroes,” and this video is a tribute to them as much as it is about her campaign.

“I have no doubt that with this incredibly hardworking, inspiring group of people we will come out victorious on June 5,” she said.

The California primary is Tuesday, June 5. Citizens can begin voting by mail this Tuesday, May 7.

Hartson’s video is on her website as well as on her social media channels.
